angels and demons

we recently celebrated (or is it comomemor8d.. or however u wanna regard it) holy week.. over the week, iv been seeing several stories about jesus. i noticed that even though there's only 1 major basis for these movies (the bible), there seems to be different and sometimes even contrasting interpretations. yes, i am a christian, roman catholic in particular. iv been raised in a very religious family and iv been educated in a catholic school til secondary education. so what the hell am i trying to arrive at? i'm a believer of God, indeed, but i still question the validity of many things. i believe in miracles, yet i believe that each of them has a scientific basis. take for instance the splitting of the red sea in the story of noah, according to researches, the reason why the body of water split is because at that time, there was some kind of shift in magnetic field that and it caused the water to be attracted to opposite poles. i have to research further, thought. but then again, the miraculous thing is that it happened on that certain moment when the israelites were trying to escape from years of slavery. im still in awe by the powers of god.
i have read angels and demons recently by dan brown. who hasn't anyway? it presented some anomalies in the church. but i share the opinion of leonardo vetra. science and religion does go hand in hand. they are conflicting, but that's because we're looking at it individually. they do have a certain connection if you think about it.
so do i believe in the theory of creation or evolution? frankly, both. how? the bible said that god created the world in 7 days, evolution says we evolved from lower forms of life. but come to think of it, maybe the bible was supposed to be taken figuratively... god created the world, the night and the day, the land and sea, then fishes, followed by the land animals before humans. isnt that the order of creation stated in the theory of evolution.
im realy not an authority in these matter and many might have an opposing opinion. still , that's what i believe.. ;)
